OVERVIEW
Mr. Whelan focuses his practice on litigation, primarily representing insurance companies as plaintiffs in cases throughout the United States. He oversees on-site investigations, selects and supervises experts, and otherwise participates in all aspects of litigation. Mr. Whelan obtained a $3,100,000 arbitration award, which was later confirmed as a judgment, arising out of fire damage to property caused by an inactive sprinkler system, and has settled several matters in excess of a million dollars. Mr. Whelan has significant experience in fire litigation, product deficiencies, as well as electrical and mechanical failures.
Mr. Whelan has tried several cases, argued multiple cases in the Illinois Appellate Court, and also has extensive experience defending medical malpractice, warehouse legal liability and personal injury lawsuits. Mr. Whelan has also successfully resolved numerous cases pursuant to arbitration and mediation
